ABOUT

I'm an Adult Psychiatrist with a fellowship on Forensic Psychiatry. I am licensed to practice in both Illinois and New York, and I maintain an active and current DEA registration, which authorizes me to prescribe controlled substances in accordance with regulatory standards required for clinical practice. I have ten years of experience in treating chronic and acute mental illness. My experience was dedicated to the Veteran population, treating wide range of Mood Disorders, Psychotic disorders, PTSD and behavioral changes in patients who were injured in combat.

I have extensive experience treating complex and treatment-resistant cases; Bipolar disorder, Major Depression, Schizophrenia, Anxiety disorders, and eating disorders, particularly in veterans with military sexual trauma. I implement clozapine therapy, recognized as the gold standard for treatment-resistant schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, and the only FDA-approved medication for reducing suicidal behavior in these conditions.

I have managed a wide range of neuropsychiatric conditions, including Parkinson's disease, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and frontotemporal dementia and provided expertise in multidisciplinary pain clinic as the primary Psychiatrist and offered non opioid pain management. These cases required careful medication selection and close collaboration with interdisciplinary providers. My approach emphasizes comprehensive care coordination.

SERVICES

I implement cognitive behavioral therapy along with medication management for mood and anxiety disorders. CBT is the first line evidence based treatment recommended in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. CBT helps identify your thoughts and its impact on your behavior and emotions. In your first session we will identify your goals and generate an individualized treatment plan that's best suited to you. I will help you identify these thoughts and replace them with healthy alternatives.
